1. About Teacher Sub Hub

Teacher Sub Hub (Pty) Ltd update with registered entity operates an online marketplace that connects South African schools needing substitute teachers with qualified, available educators. Teacher Sub Hub provides the platform and tools — it does not employ teachers, guarantee bookings, or act as a staffing agency.

2. Who can use Teacher Sub Hub

To use Teacher Sub Hub you must:

Teachers must hold a valid SACE (South African Council for Educators) registration to register on the platform. By uploading your SACE certificate, you confirm that it is authentic and current.

Schools must be a registered educational institution operating in South Africa. The person registering the school confirms they are authorised to do so on behalf of the institution.

3. Teacher accounts

As a teacher on Teacher Sub Hub you agree to:

Teacher accounts are free. Teacher Sub Hub does not charge teachers any fees to register, maintain a profile, or receive bookings.

4. School accounts & subscriptions

Schools access the Teacher Sub Hub platform through a paid monthly subscription. By subscribing, you agree to:

5. Bookings

A booking is a confirmed arrangement between a school and a teacher for substitute teaching services facilitated through Teacher Sub Hub.

⚠️ Important: Teacher Sub Hub facilitates the connection between schools and teachers. Once a booking is confirmed, the relationship is directly between the school and the teacher. Teacher Sub Hub is not a party to that arrangement.

6. Payments between schools and teachers

Teacher Sub Hub does not process, hold, or guarantee payments between schools and teachers. All payments for substitute teaching services are made directly by the school to the teacher via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), based on invoices generated by the teacher through the platform.

7. Teacher Sub Hub's subscription fees

School subscription fees are paid to Teacher Sub Hub for access to the platform — they are separate from and unrelated to payments made to teachers. Teacher Sub Hub's fees are as follows:

These fees are subject to change with 30 days' prior notice to active subscribers.

8. Ratings and reviews

After a completed booking, schools may leave a star rating for the teacher. By submitting a rating, you confirm that it is based on genuine experience and is honest and fair. Teacher Sub Hub reserves the right to remove ratings that are found to be false, malicious, or in violation of these terms.

Teachers may not offer incentives to schools in exchange for ratings, and schools may not use ratings as a form of coercion or pressure.

9. Conduct and prohibited activities

You must not use Teacher Sub Hub to:

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination, without refund of any subscription fees.

10. Intellectual property

All content, design, code, branding, and materials on Teacher Sub Hub — including the Teacher Sub Hub name and logo — are the intellectual property of Teacher Sub Hub (Pty) Ltd and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission.

Teachers retain ownership of their uploaded CVs and documents. By uploading documents to Teacher Sub Hub, you grant Teacher Sub Hub a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display those documents to registered school users on the platform for the purpose of facilitating bookings.

11. School's responsibility for due diligence

⚠️ Teacher Sub Hub is a marketplace platform only. It is not a staffing agency, employer, or guarantor of any teacher's suitability, conduct, or performance.

By confirming a booking through Teacher Sub Hub, the school acknowledges and agrees that:

Teacher Sub Hub provides tools to assist schools in making informed decisions (such as ratings, profile information, and document uploads) but the ultimate decision to engage any teacher rests solely with the school.

12. Independent contractor status

Teachers who use Teacher Sub Hub are independent contractors. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of Teacher Sub Hub. Nothing in these Terms or on the platform creates or implies an employment relationship, partnership, or joint venture between Teacher Sub Hub and any teacher or school.

Schools engage teachers on a direct, independent contractor basis. Any employment-related obligations — including but not limited to UIF, PAYE, skills levies, or compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act — are entirely between the school and the teacher, and do not involve Teacher Sub Hub.

13. Limitation of liability

Teacher Sub Hub provides the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Teacher Sub Hub expressly excludes all liability for:

Where Teacher Sub Hub's liability cannot be fully excluded by law, it is limited to the total subscription fees paid by the user in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Teacher Sub Hub (Pty) Ltd, its directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

This indemnification obligation survives the termination of your account and these Terms.

15. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting Teacher Sub Hub. Schools who cancel will retain access until the end of their current billing period. Teacher Sub Hub may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, with or without notice.

16. Changes to these terms

Teacher Sub Hub may update these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, we will notify users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
